VIROTEC®-Flexhose VX-S, simple, quick, flexible

The VIROTEC®-Flexhose is an inherently stable and non collapsible corrugated hose with wire braiding on its exterior, retaining its form even under pressure. It is manufactured out of stainless steel with a welded straight reducer fitting (2) and can be supplied in lengths (0.7 m, 1.0 m, 1.2 m, 1.5 m, 1.8 m and 2.0 m) and in nominal sizes 3/4” (20 NB) and 1” (25 NB).

The traditionally stiff angle installation of sprinklers will be nearly totally replaced by the modern way of time and cost saving VIROTEC®-Flexhose VX-S. By using VIROTEC®-Flexhose VX-S for instance, in intermediate ceilings in very compact locations, sprinklers will be easily and fast positioned and connected whereby time will be saved and thereby costs. The VIROTEC®- Flexhose VX-S is highly easily to install because of the magnitude scaling on the straight reducer fitting (2). By that fast way of accurately vertical positioning of the reducer fitting you save additional installation time.
Flexschlauch VX-G

Function

For connecting the Flexhose to the supply line (branch line) is a rotatable fitting (1) with an external thread R 3/4” (20 NB) or R 1” (25 NB), on its one end. At the other end, there is a welded straight reducer fitting (2) with internal threads Rp 1/2” for moun - ting the sprinkler head. The reducer fittings have an uniform exterior diameter of 27 mm, which serves as fixing shank for fastening on to the brackets, Type VX-SH-…, VX-GH-…, VX-UH-…, VXAH-…. There is a hexagon with wrench size 27 mm for holding up while screwing in and aligning the sprinkler head.

It is manufactured out of stainless steel with a without reduced reducer fitting and can be supplied in lengths (0.7 m, 1.0 m, 1.2 m, 1.5 m, 1.8 m and 2.0 m) and in nominal sizes 3/4” (20 NB) and 1” (25 NB).

By using VIROTEC®-Flexhose VX-S without reducer fitting it’s possible to connect individual designed drop nipples. These individual drop nipples find-uses, in false ceiling with huge airspace, concreted drop nipples in raised floors or wall-/ceiling implementations. By using VIROTEC®-Flexhose VX-S for indivi dual drop nipples problematic locations can be easily realized.
Halterung VX-SH

Function

For connecting the Flexhose to the supply line (branch line) is a rotatable fitting (1) with an external thread R 3/4” (20 NB) or R 1” (25 NB), for torsion load free installation. For connecting the individual drop nipples the VIROTEC®-Flexhose has an reducer fitting (2) with internal threads Rp 3/4” or 1”. The individual drop nipples can be attached to the brackets, Type VX-SH-…, VX-SH-…, VX-UH-…, VX-AH-…, by using the VX-U-clamp 3/4”/1” or the VXhose clamp 3/4”/1”.

It is manufactured out of stainless steel with a screwed straight drop nipple (2) and can be supplied in lengths (0.7 m, 1.0 m, 1.2 m, 1.5 m, 1.8 m and 2.0 m) and in nominal sizes 3/4” (20 NB) and 1” (25 NB).

The drop nipples (see data sheet drop nipples) are available in lengths 125 mm – 1,000 mm in nominal sizes 3/4” (20 NB) and 1” (25 NB). These individual drop nipples find-uses, in false ceiling with huge airspace or special wall-/ceiling implementations. By using VIROTEC®-Flexhose VX-S for individual drop nipples problematic locations can be easily realized.

VIROTEC®-Flexhose VX-P, simple, quick, flexible

The VIROTEC®-Flexhose is an inherently stable and non collapsible corrugated hose with wire braiding on its exterior, retaining its form even under pressure. It is manufactured out of stainless steel with a welded straight reducer fitting (2) and an XPress press connection fitting and be supplied in lengths (0.7 m, 1.0 m, 1.2 m, 1.5 m, 1.8 m and 2.0 m) and in nominal sizes 3/4” (20 NB) and 1” (25 NB). The VIROTEC®-Flexhose VX-P is VdS approved only in conjunction with the press system type XPress from VSH.


The VIROTEC®-Flexhose VX-P is the more consistent implementation in conjunction with the XPress press system for sprinkler systems. By using VIROTEC®-Flexhose VX-P for instance, in intermediate ceilings in very compact locations, sprinklers will be easily and fast positioned and connected whereby time will be saved and thereby costs. The VIROTEC®-Flexhose VX-P is highly easily to install because of the magnitude scaling on the straight reducer fitting (2). The reducer fittings have an uniform exterior diameter of 27 mm, which serves as fixing shank for fastening on to the brackets, Type VX-SH-…, VX-GH-…, VX-UH-…, VXAH-…. There is a hexagon with wrench size 27 mm for holding up while screwing in and aligning the sprinkler head.

Flexhose KUD
Flexible sprinkler hose, System KUD

The flexible sprinkler hose, system KUD is a very efficient solution to simplify the sprinkler installation in commercial suspended ceilings. The sprinkler hose is installed between the pipe branch line and the sprinkler head. In contrast to the traditional piping works (arm over), does it allow free adjustment to any desired position of the sprinkler head in suspended ceilings.

The system KUD consist of the 1” (25 NB) bendable wave tube without braiding, the 1” (25 NB) nipple for connecting to the branch line, the reducer fitting for sprinkler connection 1/2” (15 NB), and the fixture for connecting to the suspended ceiling. The KUD sprinkler hose is available in the length 700 mm, 1,000 mm, 1,200 mm, 1,500 mm, 1,800 mm.

Function

At one end of the KUD sprinkler hose there is a nipple (3) with outside thread R 1”, for connecting to the supply pipe (branch line). At the other end, there is a reducer fitting (2) with inside thread Rp 1/2”, for mounting the sprinkler. The nipple (3) and the reducer fitting (2) are each connected with the wave tube (1) by a nut (4), which contains O-ring gasket (6) and isolation ring (5). The reducer fitting (2) has a special exterior design, which serves as fixing shank for fastening on to the fixture. The fixture does enable the accurate position of the sprinkler to the suspended ceiling. It consist of two profile clamps (8) fixing at the suspended ceiling profile, one hose clamp (7) fixing the KUD sprinkler hose, and one square tube (9) which is connecting all pieces.

The flexible sprinkler hose, system KUD should be installed in accordance with EN-12845 or NFPA13, NFPA13R, NFPA13D “Standard for the installation of sprinkler systems…”.

The flexible sprinkler hose, system KUD is intended for use in hydraulically designed sprinkler systems. The hydraulic loss of this component needs to be included in the hydraulic design calculations. Losses vary depending on the installed configuration. The allowable number of 90°-bends, with a minimum bend radius of 130 mm and the associated pressure losses expressed in equivalent length are included in the following table “product range”.

The suspended ceiling system, used for installation of this sprink - ler hose, shall be designed to resist upward movement, when vertical loads are applied by the sprinkler hose.
Fixture VX-SH
VIROTEC®-Fixture VX-SH, simple, quick, flexible

The VIROTEC®-Fixture VX-SH is designed to align and hold the VIROTEC®-Flexhoses VX-G, VX-S, VX-P on T-profile grid ceilings. This fixture component is an important constituent of the VIROTEC®-Flexhose system for arm over installation of the sprink ler network in a time- and cost saving manner. The VIROTEC®-Fixture VX-SH can be positioned freely on T-profile rails of the grid ceiling and thus facilitates aligning the sprink - ler at the center of the ceiling panel or at any other desired point within the grid ceiling quickly and accurate to the point.


Function

The VIROTEC®-Fixture VX-SH consists of the cross rod (1), two mounting clips VX-SH-clip (2) and the U-shaped hose clip VX-Uclip (3). The mounting clamps are specially designed for locking the cross rod to the load bearing profile rails of the Odenwald/ Richter/Armstrong/Dipling/Rigips ceiling systems. The U-shaped hose clamp VX-U-clip serves to fasten the end of the hose or the reducer fitting of the VIROTEC®-Flexhose VX-G, VX-S or VX-P (see data sheets VX-G, VX-S, VX-P) on to the cross rod (1). The VX-U-clip is designed for a uniform diameter of 27 mm and is used in almost all types of fixtures for VIROTEC®-Flexhoses with nominal sizes 20 NB and 25 NB.

This fixture component is an important constituent of the VIROTEC®-Flexhose system for arm over installation of the sprinkler network in a time- and cost saving manner.

The VIROTEC®-Fixture VX-GH can be positioned freely on U-profile rails of the plasterboard ceiling and thus facilitates aligning the sprinkler between the profile rails of the ceiling structure quickly and accurate to the point.

The VIROTEC®-Fixture VX-GH consists of the cross rod (1), two mounting clips VX-GH-clip (2) and the U-shaped hose clip VX-Uclip (3). The VIROTEC®-Fixture VX-UH is designed to align and hold the VIROTEC®-Flexhoses VX-G, VX-S, VX-P independent of the construction of the suspended intermediate ceiling. This fixture component is an important constituent of the VIROTEC®-Flexhose system for arm over installation of the sprinkler network in a timeand cost saving manner.

The VIROTEC®-Fixture VX-UH can be positioned directly on the load bearing ceiling of a building and thus facilitates aligning the sprinkler at any desired point, within a radius of 450 mm starting from the fixing point, quickly and accurate to the point.


Function

The VIROTEC®-Fixture VX-UH consists of the stand (1), cross rod (2), and the U-shaped hose clamp VX-U-clip (3 + 4). The stand is available in lengths 0.25, 0.50, 1.0 m and can be shortened, depending upon the height of installation. The position of the cross rod (2) with respect to the stand (1) is fixed by the VX-Uclip (3). The U-shaped hose clamp VX-U-clip (4) serves to fasten the end of the hose or the reducer fitting of the VIROTEC®-Flexhose VX-G, VX-S or VX-P (see data sheets VX-G, VX-S, VX-P) on to the cross rod (1). The VIROTEC®-Fixture VX-SH-B1 is designed to align and hold the VIROTEC®-Flexhoses VX-G, VX-S, VX-P on C-profile band raster ceilings. This fixture component is an important constituent of the VIROTEC®-Flexhose system for arm over installation of the sprinkler network in a time- and cost saving manner.

The VIROTEC®-Fixture VX-SH-B1 can be positioned freely on C-profile rails of the band raster ceiling. This can be made from C-profile rail to C-profile rail (Pic. 01) as well as directly inside the C-profile rail (Pic. 02). Thus facilitates aligning the sprinkler at the center of the ceiling panel or at any other desired point within the grid ceiling quickly and accurate to the point.


Function

The VIROTEC®-Fixture VX-SH-B1 consists of the cross rod (1), two mounting clips VX-SH-B1 clip (2) and the U-shaped hose clip VX-U-clip (3). The mounting clamps are specially designed for locking the cross rod to the load bearing C-profile rails. The Ushaped hose clamp VX-U-clip (3) serves to fasten the end of the hose or the reducer fitting of the VIROTEC®-Flexhose VX-G, VX-S or VX-P (see data sheets VX-G, VX-S, VX-P) on to the cross rod (1). The VIROTEC®-Fixture VX-SH-U can be positioned freely on Uprofile rails and thus facilitates aligning the sprinkler at the center of the ceiling panel or at any other desired point within the grid ceiling quickly and accurate to the point.

The VIROTEC®-Fixture VX-AH can be positioned freely on plane sheets and thus facilitates aligning the sprinkler at the center of the ceiling panel or at any other desired point within the grid ceiling quickly and accurate to the point.

Engineering
VX-S Maximum sprinkler positions

Depending of the Flexhose type and the length selected you can realise various installation position of the sprinkler head. The corresponding limit values (min./max. positions) are listed in following charts: VX-S with straight reducer fitting (Tab. 4.13.3), VX-S with 90° reducer fitting (Tab. 4.13.4)


Static surface load

Together the Flexhose and fixture induce a constant static load into the substructure of the false ceiling. The surface load is particularly depending of the consideration of expanse of the false ceiling and the numbers therein installed Flexhoses. The total surface load onto the false ceiling is calculated on basis of brimming Flexhoses including the fixtures (see sample evaluation). The calculated result is a theoretic result which assumes that the total weight of the Flexhose and fixture is totally induced into the substructure of the false ceiling. In fact the induced load is less than calculated. Depending of the position of the sprinkler in relation to the connection of the Flexhose to the Line pipe the load is up to 50 % off. This means that the actual surface load is significantly lower than those in the sample evaluation.
